A pinon pine tree is perched atop the Airport Mesa Vortex. Among the various vortex sites in Sedona, Airport Mesa is the easiest to get to. The views here are spectacular and it is a popular sunset viewing spot. Sedona is situated amidst the Coconino National Forest. Piñon pine, such as the one pictured here, and juniper are ubiquitous in and around Sedona. Some of the rock formations pictured here just before sunset include, from left to right: Twin Buttes, Courthouse Butte, and Bell Rock. Bell Rock and Airport Mesa are considered two of the earth's energy vortexes.
